The last table got cleaned. Every salt and pepper shaker, square dishes of sugar and sugar substitute, and mustard and ketchup containers in the building were filled and back in their proper place at either the booths or bar. All the chairs were up on the tabletops. The floors were washed as well as waxed. Everything shined, even with the lights dimmed.

Ruby leaned against the doorframe and examined her handiwork. It looked pretty good. She also enjoyed the silence. The only noises were a quiet tick of the clock on the wall and a drip, drip, drip of the faucet. Whether or not Granny would approve of the quiet and how the place looked, Ruby did not know. She also found she did she care; she was too tired to care. It got done. It was acceptable. Now she was free.

Heading to the bed and breakfast, she went to her room and threw open her closet. Ruby needed to let loose and have some fun. All she did was work, work, work. When was the last time she'd had any fun? Ruby didn't even remember what the inside of the Rabbit Hole looked like. She had to go. But there was no way she would go alone. That wasn't fun.

Flipping through the clothes, she picked up her phone. Dialing Ashley's number, Ruby perched the phone on her shoulder and pressed her ear to the receiver. While waiting, the werewolf tossed outfit possibilities onto the bed. "Come on, pick up," Ruby whined under her breath.

Ashley was sitting with Sophie in her arms as she was watching Alexandra who was picking up things she was not allowed to. "put it down Alexia," she said with a strict voice watching the two year old putting down the item again. She got up from her seat as she noticed that Sophie was finally asleep in her hands. Time to put the child down for the evening. Thats when her phone went off. Sighing she hurried to pick it up so that it hopefully would not wake Sophie.

It didn't seem as the child noticed. hello?" Ashley said balancing the phone between her shoulder and her ear. She watched her steps as she made her way upstairs to put down the sleeping child. Alexia knew that it was past her bedtime, but when Sophie had been had to put down Alexandra got away with being up past her bedtime.

Putting down the sleeping child into the bed Ashley took the phone into her hand and held it to her ear, as she picked up the baby call with her other hand. Walking down stairs again she let her eyes travel around in the living room, where had the toddler gone of to now? Oh she would give just about anything to get out even if it was just for a few hours. She needed to meet other grown ups, people who she could talk to .

A part of her hoped that, that was the reason behind Rubys call, the other part hoped that she just wanted to talk. Would she have the energy to head out right now?

Ruby bounced from one foot to the other as she waited for an answer to the phone. The night was getting later and later. Soon there would be no time to go out and have some fun. Ruby glanced at the clock. It was a bit late and Ashley did have two children. What if Ashley was already asleep? Maybe she should not have called. Maybe she should have called someone else and made arrangements with Ashley for an afternoon on the town. Granny had always told her to think things through. She hadn’t this time. Whoops.

The werewolf was about to hang up the phone when Ashley finally picked up. “Oh, hey!” Ruby replied. Her voice lilted a bit as she spoke and betrayed both her nervousness at asking Ashley for a girl’s night out and her excitement at the possibility of the night out on a town. “I hope I didn’t wake you. I’m so sorry if I did.”

She stopped talking and waited for some sort of response. Ruby could babble when she was either excited or nervous; she did not want to do that. The air was dead, but Ruby could hear breathing on the other side so she knew that Ashley was still on the other end of the phone. “So, um, how are you? How is motherhood treating you?” Ruby asked, shifting the phone receiver closer to her ear. “Are you needing anything?” She stopped again. She was rambling. She needed to not do that.

“Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted to go out on the town? Do you have a babysitter or someone who can watch the kids? If not we could party at your place,” she asked after taking a few breaths.
